Private tours and treks in Bhutan

Tailor-made

Tailor-Made Bhutan Tours

Start from one of our itineraries or from a blank page. We plan the route, the pace and the places to stay around you.

Every trip we arrange is private, which means every trip can be changed. The itineraries on this site are routes that work, written down so that you have something to react to.

What you can change

  • The length. Add a night where you would like to slow down, or drop a valley to fit the days you have.
  • The pace. More walking, less driving; later starts; a free afternoon in every place.
  • The season. The same route is planned differently for February and for October.
  • The places to stay. From simple family hotels to the most comfortable in the country.
  • What it is built around. A festival, a trek, one valley you want to know well, or children.

How it works

  1. You tell us the outline. When you might come, for how long, who is travelling and what you hope to see. A few lines are enough.
  2. We send a route and a price. Day by day, with what is included. There is no charge for this.
  3. You change whatever you like. We revise it until it suits you.
  4. You confirm, and we arrange everything: visas, hotels, guide, vehicle and any permits.

Questions

Can you change an itinerary to suit me?

Yes. Every itinerary on this site is a starting point. A private trip can be made longer or shorter, slowed down, or given more walking or more festivals. See tailor-made tours.

How do I book a trip with you?

Tell us when you want to travel, for how long and what interests you, using the form on our plan your trip page. We reply with a suggested route and a price.

Once you are happy with both, we take your booking, apply for your visas and send them to you before you fly.

How much does a trip to Bhutan cost?

Two government charges are fixed: the Sustainable Development Fee of US$100 a night for each adult, and the visa fee of US$40. The rest is the cost of the trip itself: hotels, meals, a guide, and a vehicle with a driver. That part depends on the season, the hotels you choose and the size of your party.

Tell us your dates and numbers and we will send a price with nothing left out. See what a trip to Bhutan costs.

Can I travel to Bhutan on my own?

Yes. A private trip for one person is arranged in the same way as for a couple or a family: you have your own guide and driver, and the itinerary is yours to set.

The cost for each person is higher than in a group, because the vehicle and the guide are not shared.
